A panel of experts will focus on the use of teaming arrangements with other businesses (teaming agreements, subcontracts, and joint ventures) to position your company for greater success and possible sale. Ryan Bradel concentrates his practice in the areas of government contracts litigation, investigations, commercial litigation and election/campaign finance law. Ryan has represented clients on bid protests before the Government Accountability Office, litigated size protests and appeals before the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Office of Hearings and Appeals, and directed internal investigations of, and litigated disputes in state and federal court with regard to, violations of FAR, SBA regulations and the False Claims Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Ryan served as Associate Counsel on John McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign. In this capacity, he litigated a wide variety of cases before state and federal courts, including general commercial litigation and cases arising under state and federal election laws. He also helped monitor the campaign’s compliance with federal election and campaign finance law.
Darryl Britt, President and Founder, Apprio
Darryl Britt has been a founding member of several technology firms during his more than 25 years in business. He has held various executive positions which include leading both technology and software product development organizations for public, private and startup companies.
Darryl’s strengths lie in the ability to assimilate his technology background with general executive management experience, especially in high growth environments. Career highlights include various management consulting positions with Deloitte & Touche and several technology and business development roles.
Under Darryl’s leadership, Apprio developed the federal government’s Disaster Medical Information Suite (DMIS), an electronic health record (EHR) and situational awareness solution used to manage medical care during federal disasters and designated national security events such as the Gulf Oil Spill, Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane Ike.
Cameron Hamilton, Principal, The McLean Group
Cameron Hamilton, a Principal of The McLean Group, joined the firm in 2001 and has been involved in more than 30 successful sell- and buy-side M&A and capital formation engagements. Currently, he focuses on serving federal contracting clients. His recent deals include advising NetCentrics in its acquisition by Haystax Technologies (an Edgewater Funds portfolio company), SigInt Technologies in its sale to Novetta Solutions (an Arlington Capital portfolio company), UltiSat in receiving an investment from LLR Partners, DAI in its acquisition of HTPSE, GAP Solutions in its sale to Tallasi Technology, CompSec in its acquisition by DC Capital Partners, iLuMinA Solutions and OAK Management in their sales to ECS Federal, The Engle Group in its acquisition by TWD & Associates, NETCONN Solutions in its sale to General Dynamics, InSysCo in its acquisition by GTSI, Signature Government Solutions in its sale to GTEC, Casals & Associates in its acquisition by Dyncorp, Haselwood Enterprises and DPK Consulting in their sales to TetraTech, and Arrowhead Global Solutions’ acquisition by Caprock Communications, among others.
Before joining The McLean Group, Mr. Hamilton led the consulting division responsible for strategic business process analysis and return-on-investment opportunity valuation at ClearCross, Inc., a leading international trade compliance software vendor. He also was the primary financial analyst supporting ClearCross' multiple acquisitions and capital raises.
Mr. Hamilton holds an AB in economics from Princeton University, where he was a member of nationally ranked varsity swimming and water polo teams. He regularly competes in triathlons and completed his first Ironman race in Western Australia in 2012.
Susan Lockey Hawkins, Vice President, Business Strategy,
L-3 National Security Solutions
Susan Lockey Hawkins is the Vice President of Business Strategy for L-3 National Security Solutions, a leading provider of cybersecurity, intelligence, data analytics, integrated security, and enterprise IT services and solutions.
Ms. Hawkins’ is responsible for corporate strategic planning and development and the NSS Small Business Office. Previous responsibilities included competitive intelligence and price-to-win strategy. In addition, Ms. Hawkins supports solution development for strategic opportunities.
Ms Hawkins has been in a variety of strategic and operational roles at L-3, including the L-3 Industry Fellow to the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at National Defense University; the Special Assistant to the President of L-3 Government Services, Inc. (GSI); and the L-3 GSI Corporate Program Manager (PM) for seat services and information assurance (IA) solutions. Ms. Hawkins has also held numerous program leadership positions supporting L-3’s military and civilian customers.
Prior to joining L-3, Ms. Hawkins was a Senior Policy Specialist with the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Ms. Hawkins holds an M.S. in National Resource Strategy, an M.S. in Information Systems, an M.S. in Technology Management, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She is the recipient of the Heritage Award for sustained superior service and the Minuteman Special Act Award, both from the National Guard.

Gene is managing partner of Miles & Stockbridge's Tysons Corner Office and is Co-Chair of the Government Contracts Practice at the Firm. He represents clients ranging from small and middle market companies to Fortune 500 companies in the defense and government contracts industries concerning a variety of corporate, high-tech and intellectual property matters. He represents those clients on a wide variety of corporate issues, including mergers and acquisitions (domestic and international), debt and equity financings, including private equity investments, restructurings, ESOP issues, teaming and subcontract issues and joint ventures. Gene is a graduate of George Washington University Law School and holds a BA from the University of Nebraska.
