Sirena Johnson is a partner and co-practice leader of the Government Contracting group. She is based in the firm’s DC Metro offices in Tysons, VA and Bethesda, MD and specializes in providing audit, consulting, and accounting services to government contractors, technology companies, and employee benefit plans. She possesses a working knowledge of federal regulations, including Small Business Administration (SBA), 8(a) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), cost principles and accounting policies for federal government contractors. In addition, she provides various management consulting services including assisting client management in the implementation of cost accounting systems and overhead allocation methods; preparing overhead incurred cost submissions for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (“DCAA”); and assisting with DCAA accounting system reviews.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Sirena held a partner position at a leading accounting and professional services firm.
Sirena also has experience with employee benefit plan financial statement audits. She is knowledgeable of the Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations declared for employee benefit plans. She has also provided consultation with calculations and other matters relating to self-correction submissions with the Internal Revenue Service.

Sirena was previously awarded the George Mason University Alumni Association’s Alumni Service Award and the School of Business Alumni Service Award in recognition for her continuous and exceptional service to the university. Sirena was also awarded a 2017 Prominent Patriot for George Mason University for demonstrating exceptional citizenship, scholarship, and leadership in her daily life. Sirena has also been named a “Super CPA” by the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and the Virginia Business Magazine in the category of Small Business Consulting.

Sirena is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), and the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), where she serves as Co-Chair. She also holds an Emeritus position on the board of George Mason University’s Women in Business Consortium.

Sirena holds a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University in Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of Virginia and Maryland and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
