Events & Programs Committee

This committee is responsible for SECAF's calendar of events each programming year. The committee focuses on obtaining the best available speakers to address topics of immediate interest and concern for the SECAF membership, and maintaining a balance of themes and topic areas throughout the SECAF year. SECAF members interested in supporting this important aspect of the organization by identifying and securing quality speakers and programming are encouraged to contact the chair via the SECAF website.

Legislative & Regulatory Committee

Chair: Mike Bruce, InScope International, Inc.
Co-Chair: Cindy Castillo, CSSI, Inc.
The mission of the committee is to raise the awareness of our member to the impact of pending or recently-signed legislation and regulations. This is achieved by analyzing various legislation and regulatory changes that would impact our membership base, then provide timely communication of these matters and their impact to the members. The committee is also responsible for establishing strategic alliances with various government agencies and their Small Business Advocacy offices.

Marketing & Communications Committee

Chair: JD Kathuria, Harman Systems, Inc.
Co-Chair:  Elizabeth Shea, SpeakerBox Communications
The goals of this committee are: to promote the image of SECAF to local government contract related civic organizations and businesses; to help with planning, organizing, directing and maintaining lines of communications with members, the media, and other professional groups and/or societies. Primary committee activities include media relations, website updates, event announcements and support for the Annual Awards Gala.

Membership Committee

Chair: Kathy Albarado, Helios HR
Co-Chair: Jeannette King, SRE, Inc.
This committee's mission is to grow SECAF through new member recruitment, continue SECAF's strong level of membership retention and to provide optimal value to our members and their guests. The membership committee seeks proactive, responsive and energetic members who are willing and eager to provide fresh ideas in achieving our goals for growth and seeking new ways to expand and increase our member benefits. This committee's primary focus centers on "making a difference" in the organization's efforts to become "The Voice for the Small and Emerging Contractor.”

Awards Gala Committee

Chair: Mark Moore, John Marshall Bank
Co-Chair: Scott Brezler, Goodman & Co.
This committee is responsible for all facets of SECAF’s Annual Awards Gala, from choosing the date and place, room design and décor, NS advertising, to hosting on the event night. Included in their duties are organizing subsequent committees; addressing award nominations, judges and awards; as well as chairing meetings related to the Awards Gala and keeping the Gala within time and financial budgets.
