Lyn Sherlock is currently a Senior Partner, Federal, Defense, & Aerospace for growth[period], a company that delivers smart growth through business development and mergers and acquisition support. Prior to joining growth[period], Lyn served as an executive in the Department of Defense and the Department of State addressing national security, policy, operations, training, and resource issues. She retired as a Brigadier General in the US Air Force, where she most recently served in Air Force International Affairs in the Pentagon after a tour in the Bureau of Political Military Affairs at the Department of State.
Andrea Brandon is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Budget, Finance, Grants and Acquisition within the Department of Interior (DOI). As the DAS she has executive responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of all budget, finance, financial assistance, acquisitions, property, and related business IT systems for the DOI. This portfolio comprises of more than $5.3 Billion in financial assistance and contract awards across the United States. She was formerly the DAS for the Office of Grants and Acquisition Policy and Accountability (OGAPA), the Senior Procurement Executive, and the Suspension and Debarment Official for the Department of Health and Human Services. In addition, she was the Director for Financial Assistance Policy and Oversight at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS); and an Executive Assistant Director for the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
David (Dave) J. Dacquino serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Serco Inc., a $1.5 billion leading provider of professional, technology, and management services to the U.S. federal government, the government of Canada, state and local governments, and commercial enterprises. Mr. Dacquino oversees approximately 8,000 employees and brings to Serco more than 30 years of experience in the defense, aeronautics and technical services industries.
Marc Harlacher is a founder and the President and CEO of Expedition Technology, Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience leading businesses and organizations that research, design and develop advanced communications and sensing equipment for both small and large defense contractors. As CEO of Expedition, he leads a rapidly growing, advanced research and product development company focused on applied machine learning for the defense and aerospace industry. Mr. Harlacher has been awarded six U.S. patents.
Nirup Menon comes to George Mason after teaching at the University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Tech University. Menon has consulted for several companies including SAP America, and he has taught courses at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels. His teaching interests are enterprise resource planning systems, database systems, data warehouses, data mining, economics of information systems, and research methods in information systems.
Askari Rizvi is a Chief of Technical Services Branch in the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) managing all technical aspects of National Health Care Surveys at the Division of Health Care Statistics. Prior to joining NCHS/CDC, Askari had an extensive career in various technical and management roles throughout different types of organizations including federal, commercial, and nonprofit. Askari is a graduate of University of Maryland University College, and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Systems Management (MS), and Bachelor of Computer Information Science (BS). Furthermore, Askari has many IT certifications with Project Management Professional (PMP) being the most recent. At the Department of Defense (DOD), Askari led a multidisciplinary team and successfully created a project management life cycle for supporting Department of Navy’s (DON) enterprise-wide IT networks.
