Devon Hewitt and Jeannette King Join the Small and Emerging Contractor Advisory Forum’s Leadership Team

June 4, 2013, McLean, VA – The Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), the premier organization for the small and emerging government contractor, today announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Devon E. Hewitt, Partner, Protorae Law, PLLC and Jeannette King, President & CEO, SRE, Inc. will both serve the Board by supporting the organization’s activities within the government contracting industry for two years. SECAF’s mission is to provide education, resources and advocacy venues to serve the small and emerging government contractor community for the purpose of ensuring success and equal access to contracting opportunities.

Hewitt is a seasoned Government Contracts attorney with tremendous experience in representing large, mid-tier and small business government contractors. She is well known at the U.S. Small Business Administration, having represented companies on a variety of size matters, Mentor/Protégé agreements and joint ventures. Hewitt has published a treatise on Small Business Contracting Programs and is a columnist for Bloomberg BNA's Federal Contracts Reports. She also is a regular speaker for industry events sponsored by the American Bar Association, Professional Services Council, Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Legion, National Contract Management Association, Association of Corporate Counsel and others. Hewitt received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989, where she was an Editor of the Journal of Law and Politics and a member of the school's National Moot Court team. Following law school, she clerked for Judge Jose A. Fusté of the U.S. District Court for Puerto Rico.

King has over 15 years of experience in commercial and federal project and program management with a focus on Information Security and Application Development. Her expertise in managing multiple level stakeholders within an organization has produced successful track records with a myriad of large government agencies-both civil and defense, as well as at large companies like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. King's extensive experience implementing Information Technology solutions to meet the strategic needs of organizations includes full lifecycle development support and management, technical documentation, training, requirements analysis and management, hardware and software management, ITIL®, ISO, and CMMI. She has a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master's of Business Administration.
