March 24, 2011, McLean, VA – The Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), the premier organization for the small and emerging government contractor, is pleased to announce the finalists for its Third Annual SECAF Awards Gala. The SECAF Awards Gala is the premier commemorative event honoring small and emerging government contractors and the players in the ecosystem that rely on small business.

The 2011 winners will be announced at the gala on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

“In its commitment to the small and emerging government contractor, SECAF is proud to host its awards gala and recognize these fine companies,” said Shiv Krishnan, chairman of SECAF and CEO of government contractor INDUS Corporation. “SECAF recognizes that strong, emerging firms with less than $25 million in annual revenues rarely have an opportunity to be recognized, although they are consistently accomplishing great things.”

With more than 200 nominations received, finalists were chosen in six categories. The Contractor of the Year award recognizes the small and emerging contractor that has shown a commitment to excellence in the previous year, while the Small Business Partner of the Year is awarded to a larger government integrator located in the Washington, D.C., region that has actively supported small and emerging contractors. New this year is the SECAF “Award of Excellence” which honors outstanding citizens in the government contracting community. In addition, a Government Advocate of the Year, a person within the government that has demonstrated unrivaled support for the small business community will be named by SECAF chairman Shiv Krishnan. This honoree will be recognized the evening of the Awards Gala.
