Frank Sturek is the CEO of Carsinwood Consulting LLC and the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Detroit Defense, a $140M+ Annual Revenue Defense and Aerospace company. Carsinwood Consulting provides project-based Strategy, C-Suite leadership and Business Development Consulting for Government Contractors. At Detroit Defense he is the Chief Executive Officer's principal collaborator in developing enterprise strategy and pursuing inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). As the CSO, he also drives the company's growth engine: strategic business development (BD), BD operations, capture, proposal, and marketing. Detroit Defense specializes in technology integration for ground forces platforms and weapons systems, engineering, software and sustainability solutions, and sustainment and logistics services.

Frank has over 16 years of experience in Government Contracting (GovCon), focusing on the Information Technology and Defense & Aerospace markets. His roles have spanned business development, program management, operations, and executive P&L responsibilities.

Before his corporate career, Frank served 21 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. His assignments included Germany, Fort Bragg, West Point, Fort Campbell, Iraq, Fort Polk, Afghanistan, and the Pentagon. He was recognized as a top performer with numerous awards and military skill badges, including two Bronze Star Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Ranger Tab, and Senior Parachutist Wings. Notably, he commanded the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment (10th Mountain Division) in combat in Afghanistan in 2006.

Frank holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Central Florida. He taught Systems Engineering at West Point from 1998 to 2000 and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Frank and his wife Julie have been married for 35 years and have two adult children: Frank Jr. and Claire, and two grandchildren: Madeline and Frank III.
